Here are some of the development targets and highlights of my career so far:
-
Starting autumn 2025 | Traffic instructor training simulations project
Simulation Wizard is one of the project partners in a project that develops simulations for traffic instructor training. Other project partners include Nord University from Norway and Häme Vocational Institute from Finland.
More about the project in autumn 2025.

Summer 2025 | Niemi Palvelut Oy - Occupational safety for tailboard work with 360-degree images
Together with Niemi Palvelut Oy, we carried out a pilot in which we used 360-degree images to create a lightweight digital twin of the tailboard of a truck and its working environment. The aim of the simulation was to support Niemi's orientation and thus reduce accidents related to tailboard work.

Spring 2025 | Virtual Classroom conquers schools
Our most popular concept continues to grow. In the spring of 2025, the Virtual Classroom stopped in Nurmijärvi, Pori and Vantaa, among others – we have been implementing virtual geography lessons with Martinlaakso Upper Secondary School for the second year!
Since January 2024, we have implemented virtual lessons in numerous schools and various fields in Finland.

Autumn 2024 - Spring 2025 | Simulation training package together with OSAO's Digikyvykäs Kampus (Digitally capable campus) project. We were able to implement a very unique and extensive simulation training package by Finnish standards. A similar simulation training package that cuts across the entire organization has not previously been implemented at any level of education in Finland.
The training includes both joint training days for members of the entire OSAO organization as well as sector-specific sparring workshops.

2024 Autumn | 360-degree simulation learning environment for a kindergarten bus Simulation Wizard helped implement a mobile kindergarten in Ukraine - Traumatic conditions require a safe space.
he project was built in cooperation with 30 Finnish companies, and the Ministry of the Interior of Finland, the Ukrainian Board of Education, the Ukrainian Institute of Education Development (UIED) and the Association of Innovate and Digital Education (AIDE) also participated in the project. The bus began its journey towards Kherson on September 16 to carry out its important mission, the core of which is supporting teachers and providing psychosocial assistance to Ukrainian children and families.
"We are incredibly proud to be part of this project," says Anssi Salmi, founder of Simulation Wizard.
"We contributed strong simulation expertise to the project in the form of 360-degree photography. The bus was made into a digital twin by photographing the car from both the inside and outside. The images can be used to enable, among other things, remote training of personnel," Salmi concludes.

- Autumn 2020 | Consulting with HKL on the effective use of simulations regarding tram and metro simulators.
- 2019 April | Seminar workshop: Simple Simulator
-
2017-2018 | Consulting with the logistics unit of Kotka Ekami
Logistics teacher Jouni Ropponen wanted to get a consultation on a simulator learning environment. We ended up collaborating and after a few mutual visits, a substantial teaching environment was built at Ekami, including different types of simulators.

2016 May | At a dinner in Smolna, invited by the sitting Minister of Education.
I was honored to represent Vantaa Varia and the SME region at the invitation of the then Minister of Education, Sanni Grahn-Laasonen, at the Government's banquet hall in Smolna in May 2016. At the time, a reform of vocational education was underway, and the Minister of Education wanted to hear the opinions of Finland's best development teachers as a basis for implementing the reform. In total, there were about 25 development teachers from all over Finland at the event.

2015 - 2017 | Virtual Virtuosos project, Vantaa Vocational College Varia, Vantaa
I worked as a project manager for the Virtual Virtuosos project at Varia in Vantaa. Several schools around Finland participated in the project. The aim of the project was to inspire students to the world of digitalization and to do development work on various virtual environments and applications.

Since 2013 | Developing simulator training, Vantaa Vocational College, Vantaa
When I became a teacher at Varia in Vantaa in the fall of 2013, there was not a single simulator in the logistics department. I quickly got busy and the first wheel loader simulator manufactured by MeVea arrived at the end of December of that year. By spring and winter 2019, the number of simulators had increased to eight and will certainly continue to increase in the future. In addition to developing simulators, we have also experimented with virtual glasses technology, 360-degree photography and other smaller digital technology applications.

2011 - 2013 | Procurement of a combined vehicle simulator, Tredu, Tampere
I worked as a project manager for a combined vehicle simulator project while working at Tredu in Tampere. The project budget was approximately 1.0 million euros, of which the simulator accounted for approximately half. The simulator arrived at Tredu in early 2013 and has been operating flawlessly in Tredu's logistics unit in Hervanta, Tampere ever since.
